LANG’S DIVIDED TEAM
MEETING IN CABINET REPUDIATION OF REDS 8y Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright SYDNEY, Tuesday. The delegates to the Labour Conference by an overwhelming majority last evening adopted the rules proposed by the Reds, or extremists, in the party. To-day a secret meeting of the Cabinet was held. It was attended by all the Ministers except the Premier, Mr. J. T. Lang, the Vice-President of the Executive Council, Mr. A. C. Willis, the Minister of Labour. Mr. J. M. Baddeley. and the Minister for Justice, Mr. W. J. McKell. The two latter Ministers were absent from the State. A resolution was passed protesting against the action of the Premier in handing over the government of the State to the Red element at. the Trades Hall. It was also decided that Mr. Lang must repudiate all the actions of the conference which Mr. Seale had convened, and that he must express his regret for having taken any part in its proceedings. It was further resolved that under no circumstances would Mr. Willis be allowed to retain his position in the Government. Cabinet will meet again later tonight, when Mr. Lang will be present. —A. and N.Z.
