BIBLE CLASSES
PRESBYTERIAN STUDENTS CAMP AND CONFERENCE Glorious weather over the week-end assured a successful continuation of the Easter camp and conference of the New Zealand Presbyterian Young Men’s Bible Class Union at Hunua Falls. A steady increase in membership was revealed at the annual meeting on Saturday, when a total of 275 classes throughout the Dominion with a membership of 3,540 was reported. New classes numbered 39 and £l,OlO had been subscribed for mission work. The Mission Banner, for' the district contributing the largest amount for missions during the year, was again won by Gisborne. The executive council was located in Christchurch for the ensuing year, the Rev. Bower Black being elected president, and Messrs. S. Wilkinson and T. E. Coombe, also of Christchurch, vice-presidents. On Sunday a devotional meeting was conducted by Mr. Gordon Troup, and morning and evening services by Mr C. Edmond and the Rev. H. Gilbert. The annual meeting of the Dominion Council of the Presbyterian Sunday School Teachers’ Association was held at Knox Hall, Parnell, on Saturday, and was attended by delegates from both islands. The director, Mr. N. V. McLeod, of Wellington, presided. The Easter Conference of the association is also being held at the hall, and is being attended by teachers from all parts of New Zealand. The conference is in the nature of a refresher course, and lectures are being given by the Rev. R. M. Ryburn, director of youth work, the Rev. Lawrence Rodgers, Waikato Prebsytery, the Rev. R. Warnock., Bay of Plenty, and others The conference, will conclude this evening, with a public missionary address by Mrs. J. L. Gray, of Jaghadri. India.
