FINAL GALLOPS Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. The weather was fine for the final gallops at Riccarton, where the outside of the course proper was open but not much used. Most work was done on the plough, which was holding, having been watered overnight. Agrion was slightly better than Eulalia at the end of six furlongs in 1.17. Shirley with a light weight ran six furlongs on the course proper in 1.15 3-5. Phillippic took 1.8 3-5 for five. Shalimer following in 1.8, but both were §oing easily. Young Lochinvar was given useful pacing, with a sprint down the straight. Centrepiece, with Green Cloth to assist over the last five, ran seven furlongs in 1.32. finishing well. Front Rank was going well alongside Serotina at the end of six furlongs run in 1.17 3-5. Haze worked six furlongs, finishing with a three-furlong sprint. Brightling was in front of The Harp at the end of half a mile run in 50 2-5. "Wild Work ran half a mile in 51 4-5, Card Trick taking 53 for a similar distance. Footfall, Rapier and Assurance, after a slow start, ran a mile in 1.45, finishing together, but with Footfall going best. Court Jester. Despot and Amorist were together at the end of three furlongs in 38 2-5. Scoff galloped five furlongs in 1.4. a good gallop, as he went from a slow start. Royal Game ran two steady rounds. Paper Boy, with Spode assisting for the last six, ran seven furlongs in 3-32 4-5.

Flaming Ray took 1.46 4-5 for a niile on No. 6 grass track. Piuthair did seven furlongs in 1.32 2-5, while Clarinda was given three-quarter pace Work.

Sir Roy beat Royal Tractor over five furlongs in 1.4 4-5. Set Sail held Vaward comfortably over the last part of a mile and aquarter gallop, the eight furlongs occupying 1.45 1-5.
