GLOVES FOR MINISTER
As recompense for a tour which involved strenuous travelling and extremely long hours the Minister of Lands, the Hon. A. D. McLeod, did not go away from the Hauraki Plains empty-handed. On Thursday morning his party stopped at a roadside flax mill, and a pair of warm gloves, partly wool and partly flax, were presented to the Minister. Their attractive “Fair-Isle” pattern, apart from the fine craftsmanship, made the Minister envied by other members of the party.
