Moving Picture Career CHANCE OF A LIFETIME FIRST PHOTOS ON SATURDAY THE first photographs of contestants in the Film Star Competition for “Miss Zealand 1927” will appear in THE SUN on Saturday. Interest is growing daily in this great competition, which will be worth nearly £IOOO to the winner. Reports from other centres indicate that many candidates are coming forward to dispute supremacy with the Auckland girl whose fortune it will be to lead in our provincial contest. “Miss New Zealand 1927,” winner of the contest now being conducted throughout the Dominion by its leading newspapers in association with Fuller-Mayward and J. C. Williamson Theatres and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Ltd., will be offered an opportunity which few, if any, of the great screen actresses ever had.

The famous Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios at Culver City will give “Miss New Zealand 1927” the chance of adopting a' moving picture career, should she prove suitable. Stars now famous have worked and waited through bitter years of struggle, and such a chance as the one now offered to New Zealand’s most representative girl would have been almost too good to be true. STRAIGHT TO THE STUDIOS Under the best possible auspices, accompanied by an approved chaperon, “Miss New Zealand 1927” will be afforded this wonderful opportunity. She will study the art of acting for the camera under tutors who have directed world-famous stars. Any latent ability she possesses will be cultivated and may possibly lead her to undreamt-of heights. There is nothing to check the progress of the lovely, talented girl who will win the title “Miss New Zealand 1927.” Her path will be made smooth. All expenses will be paid throughout the trip to the United States, with first-class accommodation everywhere. and return to New Zealand. A suitable wardrobe and pocket money also will be provided. SUITABLE TYPES “Miss New Zealand 1927,” while in Hollywood, will be offered an engagement to appear in a feature film at a salary of £25 per week during the currency of that engagement. Hollywood is looking for suitable types the world over, and in New Zealand she will not be disappointed, for nowhere is to be found girlhood and young womanhood of a finer type than in the Dominion. “Miss New Zealand,” stand forward and claim your prize!
