THREE ARRESTS
ONEHUNGA FRACAS The quiet of Onehunga was broken last evening by loud calls for help. Three arrests followed. There were some curious features about the fracas. One of the men who was arrested will be charged with having opium in his possession, and the other two will be charged with assault. It is stated that the man who was calling for help was in possession of the opium, and that the two who are being charged with assault , were attempting to relieve him of it. A civilian who went to the rescue of the man who was calling for help pursued one of the other men, who was running away with the bag containing the opium. It is also stated that the man who was assaulted bore marks of having been severely knocked about.
