ARREST OF JACOB JOHNSON FURTHER ACTION PENDING By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright SYDNEY, Tuesday The action was concluded to-day in which Amy Johnson, wife of Jacob Johnson, claimed £5,000 as compensation from the Prime Minister, Mr. S. M. Bruce, and the Superintendent of the Commonwealth Police Force, as agents of the Commonwealth, in connection with the arrest of her husband under the Deportation Act. The jury awarded Mrs. Johnson £6O as damages. Immediately this case had been concluded a claim brought by Mrs. Walsh, wife of Thomas Walsh, for £5,000, as compensation from the same defendents, was commenced. This action also arises out of the Deportation Act proceedings, under which Walsh was arrested and detained at Garden Island. —A. and N.Z.
