NEW LYNN AFFAIRS

The New Lynn Town Board met last evening, the chairman, Mr. W. G. Lovie, presiding. It was decided that steps be taken immediately to arrange a conference of interested local bodies to decide all matters in connection with the proposed new concrete bridge over the Whau Stream. Mr. H. G. K. Mason, M.P for Eden, attended the meeting, and offered to assist the board to obtain a post office on the section provided on Great North Road, instead of renting a place as at present. An initial scheme of town-planning was suggested by the ratepayers of Folk Street. They suggested that if the board supplied trees and soil they would carry out the work free of cost. It was resolved to accept the offer, and that the ratepayers be thanked for their public-spirited offer.
