FIGHT WITH HOODLUMS

STORY ENDS IN COUR.'I FIVE-CORNERED BATTLE Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Walking home after a dance, Alfred George Ringdahl, aged 26, and his brother drew the critical attention of three hoodlums standing in Gloucester Street. The Ringdahls resented remarks passed by the larrikins, and the result was a five-cornered battle that lasted for a quarter of an hour, until a constable arrived, whereupon the combatants took to their heels, with the exception of Alfred George Ringdahl. He was too badly wounded to run. Ringdahl was charged before Mr. Lawry, SIM., this morning with fighting with some persons unknown. Accused pleaded not guilty. He was convicted and discharged.
