VAULTS INVADED
RAID BY BANDITS BIG HAUL OF BULLION DARING ILLINOIS CRIME By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 8 a.m. NEW YORK, Saturday. Fifteen bandits overcame five watchmen at the Illinois Watch Company at Elgin and worked three hours with acetylene torches. They cut open the vaults and abstracted gold bullion valued at 500.000 dollars, and then escaped in a motor-car. The bandits, during the operations, compelled the watchmen to telephone an hourly report to a protective agency saying that everything was well.—Sun.
