AN INDIFFERENT YOUTH REMANDED FOR SENTENCE fFronv Our Oxen Correspondent.) HAMILTON, To-day. Charged with the theft of a portmanteau and travellers' samples. Leslie Charles Burke, aged 20 years, appeared in court, this morning. The police stated that when quite young accused was committed to the industrial home at Christchurch. He absconded and was later placed on probation for theft. In Wellington he took a car and drove through to Hamilton, where he appropriated the bag of traveller’s samples. When asked whether he would like to be tried by a jury, Burke said, “Anything will do.’’ Accused was remanded for sentence.
