BOXING PRELIMINARIES

PURDY-JAMITO FIGHT The following preliminary bouts have been arranged for the Jamito-Purdy tight at the Auckland Town Hall on Monday night. Featherweight: Leslie v. Rickard; Wallace v. Wilson; Taylor v. Poselwaite. Lightweight: Broadfoot v. Mcknight. Catcliweight: Fraei (9.8) v. Leary (10.1). A good deal of interest will centre in the bout between Broadfoot, the Waihi boxer, and McKnight. Broadfoot is the amateur champion of Auckland, and McKnight a brother of Clarrie McKnight, the well-known professional. Taylor, the Auckland and New Zealand bamtamweight champion, will meet Poselwaite in the featherweight class, a bout which promises to be a good one, as Poselwaite has shown steady improvement in his recent fights.
