The “A” grass track was on the soft side. Count Cavour easily beat Aberfeldy over eight furlongs in 1.491. His injured heel did not appear to trouble him. Reonui covered six furlongs in 1.24. Bunkie did 13 furlongs in 3min., the last 10 taking 2.174. In a good gallop Heroic went five strongly after spurting three in 364. It is reported that Royal Tea is returning to New Zealand next week.
