DOG-OWNERS FINED
Some people are apt to be a little narrow-minded when a dog shows an inclination to make a meal off them — and can you blame them? The sequel, more often than not, is the Police Court, a dead dog, and a fine for the owner. William Bloomfield's dog. a Great Uahe, tried to take a piece out of a caller's hand one day, and as a result has now departed this life. His owner was convicted this morning, and ordered to pay £ 1 8s costs. As he was out of work, Mr. Hunt, S.M., allowed him two months to pay. Jesse E. Uavey also came along to the court to complain about an encounter between his trousers and Bert Coopers’ dog—cattle variety this time. The incident cost Cooper £1 16s and the price of a new pair of trousers—
