LAND PROBLEMS
FORTHCOMING CONFERENCE ARRANGEMENTS MADE Arrangements in connection with the forthcoming land conference were further prosecuted yesterday afternoon when a committee meeting was held to discuss Wednesday’s programme. Sir Andrew Russell, who is to preside, and most of the visiting delegates are expected to arrive in Auckland on Tuesday next. The conference will open on Wednesday morning when it is hoped to pass the resolutions necessary to bring the league into operation. In the afternoon a motor drive has been arranged and delegates meet again in the evening for a general discussion on land settlement and increased production problems. Emphasis is given by the committee to the fact that the conference is not confined to farmers, but is to represent a combination of farming and commercial interests. Leading Auckland business men are to receive a personal invitation to attend.
