Land Exchange.— A dispute has arisen between the Hamilton Borough Council and the Education Department over the exchange of a piece of land in the borough. It was stated at a council meeting on Thursday that the borough had been given land £727 less in value than the area exchanged. The Minister for Education expressed the opinion that the council should, in the circumstances of large expenditure by the department, be satisfied with the deal. The council was not satisfied and remarks were made about "sharp practice.”
