two contestants (From Our Oxen Correspondent.) WAIHI. Thursday. Dr. T. G. Short, who is deputymayor of the borough, to-day replied to the deputation that recently waited on him asking him to contest the mayoralty, by stating he was willing to accede to their request. This means two contestants for the mayoralty, Mr. W. W. Wallnutt. the present mayor, and his deputy. Dr. Short.
