The determination of the Railway Department to facilitate ambulance and first aid training among the men is mentioned in. the Railway Magazine, which states that this will take the form of instituting ambulance classes and divisional supply of material and accommodation and the payment of doctors’ fees for instruction., examination charges and other incidental expense. Mr. E. F. S. Grant, coaching foreman at Thorndon. has been appointed to go through New Zealand with the object of placing before members in different centres the advantage of possessing knowledge of this class of work. He will make such arrangements, also, as will facilitate the establishment of amI bu lance classes and divisions throughi out the service.
