SATISFACTORY POSITION A. AND P. SOCIETY AFFAIRS (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, To-day. An excellent year iss recorded by the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association in its annual review' and its position is shown to be very sound, with good prospects for coming fixtures. A profit of £97 10s 3d is shown on the year’s working, after allocating £,200 18s 9d to prizes. The total income was £3,10S 16s Bd. Assets consist of land at Claiidelands and Orini valued at £5,697 13s Bd, and buildings at £2,906 13s lOd, after allowing for depreciation. Sundry amounts bring the total up to £9,429 14s 6d. The capital account stands at £4,636 16s 7d. Contingent liabilities are the Waikato Trotting Club’s interest in buildings, etc., on the association’s property, and the contract for improvements. The 35th annual report states that the 1926 show was a great success, notwithstanding the fact that it was held two weeks earlier than usual and in very unpropitious weather. The cattle, sheep and pig sections were the best ever seen at a Waikato Show. Many Royal Show w'inners were ex- ■ hibited at the fixture; in fact, three"ourths of the champions in the stock •ctions at the Royal Show competed. A large and excellent section of fat lambs came forw'ard. During the year much improvement work has been carried out by way of filling up depressions in the grounds, levelling sections and raising hollow' portions. The cost of the w'ork is estimated at £350. to which the Waikato Trotting Club is making a contribution of £SO. Other alterations are being carried out to the buildings.
