ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
NORTHCOTE CLUB The first general meeting of the Northcote Association Football Club was held last night at the clubhouse. The president, Mr. W. Roberts, presided. There was a large and enthusiastic attendance of players and supporters. The secretary-reported that last season had been a trying one for the management committee, as there was a heavy draw on the clubs funds owing to necessary improvements that had to be done to the ground in an effort to make it suitable for senior games. The Northcote Club was able last season to put seven teams into the field and play them throughout the season, a distinction that was shared by only one other club, Devonport. The senior teams, although not successful in obtaining any grade honours, were all well up in the competitions, and in the Falcon Cup contest won through to the final, being beaten only by Tramways. The finance of the club when the expenditure on the ground improvements were considered was in a very sound position. A number of socials had been held during the season, all of which were successful. The officers for the ensuing year were:—Patron, Mr. R. Cadness; vicepresidents, the same as last season; club captain, Mr. T. Johnstfone; the selection committee, Messrs F. Fullbrook, Osbourne and Johnstone; hon. secretary, Mr. S. Osbourne; hon. treasurer, Mr. N. E. Cross; management committee, Messrs Howlan, C. Hunter, W. Corrin, S. Osbourne, France, B. Jupp, C. Guilfoyle, F. Fullbrook, P. Cross, J. Brennan and C. Bunker.
