AN APOLOGY Owing to the great demand for our Dundee Cake we wish to apologise to our many customers who were disappointed on Saturday last, the 26th. From now on we guarantee that the supply will be equal to the ’demand. DUNDEE CAKE To her bairnies assembled the guid mither spoke, “I’m giving a treat to my ain little folk; I’ve been to the baker’s and ordered for tea. That outstanding cake wi’ the name o Dundee. So fill up your tassies ah high as ye can. For just round the corner I’m spyin’ the van; We’ll cut into slices and eat up wi’ glee This outstanding cake wi’ the name o’ Dundee. The cake it is cut and pronounced quite a treat, The finest o’ cakes that a mortal could eat; Each bairn had twa slices and wished Uiey d had three Of the outstanding cake wi’ the name o Dundee. So after the tea all their discoursing ran On the cake, and the lad vowed, when he was a man, His mither and sisters should each day for tea Have the outstanding cake wi' the name o Dundee.
