HOCKEY
AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION The Management Committee of the Auckland Hockey Association met last evening. The chairman, Mr. A. Playle, presided. The annual report, to be presented at the general meeting, states that the past year has been one of the most successful since the inception of the association in 1903. There were 16 affiliated clubs and seven sub-associa-tions participating in matches under the jurisdiction of the Auckland Hockey Association last season. In grade championship matches 44 teams were engaged, seven more than in the previous year. The report reviews in detail the events of competitions ana other important fixtures during the season.
