FATAL NOSE-DIVE
SERVICE PLANE CRASHES THREE MEN KILLED By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright BRISBANE, Thursday. Three lives were lost in an aeroplane crash to-day. A machine belonging to the Queensland and Northern Territory air service was flying north from Charleville with mails and passengers when it fell to the earth near Tambo, 550 miles northwest of Brisbane. The pilot was about to land when the aeroplane suddenly nose-dived from a height of 500 ft. The pilot, Flight-Lieutenant A. Davidson, a son of the editor of the “Adelaide News,” who was making his first trip on this route, and a passenger, Mr. A. W. Bell, of Winton, were killed. The only other person aboard, a passenger named Donald, was terribly injured and died in hospital.—A. and N.Z.
