JEWS FROM FAR BELOW A fish story, which is said to have the merit of being true, is told by a man named O’Dea, who lives at Jews’ Retreat, Warwick, Queensland. He has a well bore down 196 feet, and the mill lifts the water into two big tanks, which are joined by a pipe. Recently he had a look into the tanks and in one saw a large number of jew fish, about six inches long. There were no fish in the other tank. O’Dea is unable to explain how the fish got into the tank, nor can he understand how they are thriving in the brackish water. He is now feeding them. . . .
