— THE WAR MEMORIAL The Bii'kenhead Borough Council met last evening, the mayor, Mr. E. G. Skeates, presiding. The Birkenhead war memorial is now nearing completion and the date for the unveiling ceremony was fixed for Sunday, April 24. Representatives from the council were appointed to join with the Northcote Council to wait upon the Distinct Telegraph Engineer to-day with a view to expediting the installation of the automatic telephone system. The Business Association is to be invited to appoint a representative to join the deputation.
