RUGBY FOOTBALL
THE PONSONBY CLUB GOOD SEASON EXPECTED The annual meeting of the Ponsonby Rugby Football Club was held last evening. In the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr. T. Aitken, Mr. G. Nicholson presided over a large attenance of members. The report and a satisfactory. balance sheet were adopted. The officers for the year are as follow: —President, Mr. T. Aitken; vice-presidents, same as last year; secretary, Mr. L. High ton; assistant secretary, Mr. It. Wilkins; treasurer, Mr. H. A. Mattson: club captain, Mr. U. Nicholson; deputy club captain, Mr. E. Matthews; management committee, Messrs. J. Johnson, L. Foster, E. Matthews, C. Cammick, A. Wetherall, G. Menaies and B. Winters; delegates to Auckland Rugby Union, Messrs. G. Nicholson, L. Foster and A. Wetherell; delegate to Junior Advisory Board, Mr. K. Matthews. Over 30 new members were elected. A hearty welcome was accorded to Mr. D. Pelham, a member o£ the Maori touring team. On behalf of the president of the Club, Mr. A. Q. Aitken presented the club with an enlarged photograph of th* Ponsonby team which toured New South Wales 20 years ago.
