It is proposed that the new Hoard will not form two bodies as at present, but that the Consuls and their nominees will meet together once a month for the despatch of public business. The election of a Treasurer and Collect »• for the Municipality is to l)u left with the ratepayers, but we. do not suppose this will be considered any groal '" - It is our own opinion, an opinion endorsed by many •!'the ratepayers, thai the foreign residents in the Municipality should elect representatives, who -voulil have a seat on the Hoard. We do not do sire however,'.ooH'erauyl'actioiisnpposilion to the new arrangement, and if the Municipal Board of iksi is as great a success as the Board for the year now closing, 11 ie will have anything toivgret.
