Ob Saturday morning last the American brigantine Tanner took her departure from -our port on a cruise in search of a market for her cargo, about 200,000 feet of pine lumber. Tho Gorman ahip-of-war Bismarck and the German barque Sophie left the haib jur on Wednesday morning last, their mission being, the latter to convey the Savaii warriors home, and the former to stand by the Sophie with her steam. The dophie returned to harboar on Thursday evening. On Thursday morning the steamer Bud*eu returned to port, from a cruise, after an absence of some eighty-one days. During her cruise she has visited a large number of the Line Islands, and New Britain. Tine weather has been experienced throughout almost the whole passage.
