THE WANCANUI TOURNAMENT. Per Press Association. Wanganui, December 20. The Wanganui Bowling Centre's tournament was continued to-day in line weather, with the following results : | Section A.—Ninth Round: Abbott. 27, beat Green, 14 ; London, 33, beat Corby, 11 j Scrivener, 26, beat Wrightson, 14; Foster, 18, beat Bates, 16; Eenefield, 22, beat Ogilvie, 16. Section B.—Beale, 23, beat Sharp 18; Gordon, 34, beat Todd, 17; Fraser 24, beat Saywell, 19. ! Section C.—Laughton beat Gellatly, Morshead beat Bourne, Keesing beat Boyd, Hew beat Parsons, and Smith j beat Glasgow. < In the first round of the semi-finals, Abbott, 18, beat Laughton, 15; London, 19. beat Beale, 17; Gordon, a bye. Second Bound: Gordon, 19, beat Abbott, 17, alter a splendid game; London, a bye. THE STRATFORD CLUB. Messrs C. Jackson, J. 3. McDonald, Lyons and Sharp (skip), a rink which competed at the Wanganui tournament, report that though not successful in carrying off any honors, tney had a real good time, and were treated most hospitably. They scored lour wins during the tournament. The Wanganui green was not in very good order, but the greens at Gonvllle and St. Johns were perfect, the latter being described as "quick as lightning." The team was in charge of a "chaperone," who was largely responsible by her arrangements for the comfort and enjoyment of the tourists. A team comprising Messrs C. Jackson, Fookes, Sangster and Smart (skip) leave for New Plymouth on Monday morning to take part in the New Year Tournament. The Stratford Club will be represented' at the New Plymouth tournament in January by the following rink:—S. Porritt, J. Masters, N. J. King, and G. Smart (skip). During the past two years this rink has succeeded in winning a place in the semifinals, so if they land the trophy, it. will not be out of their turn.
