])r. F. W. Ward has accepted the editorship of the Brisbane “Telegraph,” and takes up his new duties at the beginning of next month. The Wanganui Presbytery has sustained a call from >St. Andrew s Church, Wanganui, to the ReV. Davlu Campbell, of Riversdale. Dr. W. Kerr-'Hlislop, formerly ot Inglewood, now of Fnxton, has been appointed medical superintendent oi the Wanganui Hospital. Mr T. Hustwick, formerly Government Analytical Chemist, passed away at Wellington on Saturday, after a protracted illness. In his 80th year. A well-known figure in Wellington shipping circles, Captain Jones, *oi many years skipper of the Duchess and other harbor ferry steamers, died in the hospital, where he , had been lying for some time, suffering Irom i a paralytic seizure,
