I STRATFORD RACING CLUB. j THE NEW YEAR MEETING. j The outlook for the Stratford II ai - ing Club’s Race Meeting on January Ist and 2nd, 1917, is certainly a very bright one, and only fine weather is necessary to ensure a record gathering. .Excellent acceptances for all events have been received, and several horses from other districts are already here to fulfil their engage-' merits. Owners and trainers will he, pleased with the track, which is in' splendid order. The course appoint-! meats are now most satisfactory also,! and the new information board r a.* handsome iron structure already described in these columns) is not the least of the improvements made since last race meeting. Special ran wav arrangements will enable visitors from all parts of the district adjacent to the line to make the journey easily. The presence of the 'Wanganui Band—one of the finest musical co--binations in Now Zealand—ought to induce very many, who possibly are not keen race-goers, to be present at tlie gathering to hoar this splendid Band’s playing.
