TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. t The second day's racing at New Plymouth which brought the Taranaki Jockey Club's Christmas meeting to a qjjso was most successful though the violent gale that . was blowing made the weather conditions less pleasant than on the first day. The totalisator handled £18,753 as against £17,74/5 for the corresponding day of last year, making, a total of £38,499 10s for the two days*Jiß compared with £36,648 last year. The arrangements for the meeting were again excellent.
