MESSAGE FROM THE KING. TO NEW ZEALAND TROOPS. Per Press Association. Wellington, December 26. The following message from His Majesty .the King was read to the troops in camps, barracks, and hospitals on Christmas Day:— I send you, my sailors and soldiers, hearty good wishes for Christmas and New Year. My grateful thanks are ever with you for hardships endured, and for your unfailing cheerfulness. Another Christmas has come round, and we are still at war, but the Empire is confident in you, and remains determined to win. May God bless and protect you. (Signed) GEORGE R, and I. To the men in hospital:— ' At this Christmastide the Queen and I are thinking more than ever of the sick and wounded among my sailors and soldiers. From our hearts we wish them strength to hear their suffering, and a speedy restoration to health, a peaceful Christmas, and many happier years to come. (Signed) GEORGE R. 'and I.
