SPORTING.
STRATFORD RACING CLUB. A meeting of the Committee was hold last evening when there were present Messrs W. H. H. Young (chairman), S. Pitt, W. J. Morrison, and H. E. Abraham. An apology l for absence was read from Mr F. Mackay. Messrs W. 'H. H. Young and J. 11. L. Stratford were appointed to arrange for the purchase of trophies. The resignation of Mr Brewer was accepted with regret, and the question of 'filling the vacancy was deferred until the next meeting. The Chairman was authorised to interview the Borough Engineer with regard to the repair of certain streets leading directly to the Racecourse. Ihe request made by trainers to provide a sand-roll was left in the hands of Mr Pitt to deal with.
