Amsterdam, December I. The British naval changes have caused a sensation in Berlin, which attributes them to the activities of German torpedoers in the Channel. The Germans expected Mr Balfour’s resignation, and are surprised at Sir H. Jackson’s transference. Sir David Beatty’s appointment has caused misgivings ; Ids leadership in the Jutland battle compelled respect and fear.
CASE OF THE KONINCEN RECENTES. Amsterdam, November 30. The Gormans have re'eased the Koningen Regentes (seized on November 10), and have opened an inquiry into the action of the crew in helping an English courier to hide a despatch-box. (A wireless message from Amsterdam on November 11 stated that the Germans had conveyed to Zeebrugge the Dutch steamer Koningen Regentes, with 93 adult passengers and 110 children aboard).
