GENERAL MURRAY’S DESPATCH. GREAT WORK BY MOUNTEDS. (Received 8.60 a.m.) Loudon, December 1. General Murray’s despatch , tinted October 1, covers the operations in Egypt from June to September 30. General Murray, in detailing the operations at Quatia, praises the work ol the Australians and New Zealand Mounteds, The Australian Light Horse were employed observing and harassing the enemy’s advanc?. The complete result of the operations was the decisive defeat of eighteen thousand of the enemy, and the capture of fifteen thousand rifles and four thousand prisoners. Ihe total enemy casualties were about nine thousand. Major-General Chauvel proved himself a resolute and resourceful cavalry leader. The brunt of the whole fighting fell upon the Australian and New Zealand Mounteds. General Muna\ said he could not speak top highly of the gallantry, steadfastness, and untiring energy which those fine troops had shown. ORGANISED RESISTANCE ENDED London, November 30. The Sirdar reports that all the Alidinars have surrendered, and no important men remain in tin* field, ft is believed that the organised resistance in Dari nr has ended.
