General Sir Douglas Haig states: There is considerable artillerying on our front on both sides of the Ancre. Our retaliation was prompt and effective. The enemy's trench mortura were 1 active southward of Armentieres. Our aircraft attacked several places of military importance, causing largo ; explosions.
