THE BAGHDAD RAILWAY.

TAURUS TUNNEL PIERCED, Press Association—Copyright, Australian and N.Z.- Cable Association. London, November 25. Sofia reports that the Baghdad railway tunnel through the Taurus Range has been pierced. The Evening News comments that in a year the Germans have shortened the Berlin journey by a fortnight! The Daily Mail says the tunnel has overcome the last natural obstacle to German control of the Berlin-Bagh-dad line, which menaces Egypt and India, adding: We wrecked our opportunities as regards the Balkans and Belgium in 1914, Serbia in 1915, and Roumania in 1916.
