PERSONAL.
Mr It. H. Pigott has been elected chairman of the Clifton County Council. Mr Pigott held the office of chairman some years ago.
At the Presbyterian Assembly, the Rev. A. Don was unanimously re-ap-pointed Foreign Missions Secretary for another term of three years.
The Eight Rev. Dr. Averill, Bishop of Auckland, has' been engaged this week at Stratford, Itahotu, Okato and Tataraimaka, and returned to New Plymouth yesterday.
Lieut.-Colonel B. C. Freyberg, D. 5.0., Commander of tho Hood Battalion, Royal Naval. Brigade, has been wounded in the throat, and is now (according to advice received by his mother in Wellington) in 'Etretat Hospital, France. This is the sixth occasion on which Lieut.-Colonel Freyberg has been wounded—at Antwerp, three times at Gallipoli, and twice on the Western front.
Among 'the Taranaki soldiers included in tlie roll of honour are the following!:—Died of wounds: Sergeant E. J- Harris (Mrs M. A. Harris, Inglewoodj mother), Private J. R. Anderson (J. Anderson, Stratford, father). Wounded: Lance-Cor-poral 13. C. Hone (Mrs T. Hone, Waverley mother) ; Private S. 11. Haddreh (W. H. Haddrell, New Plymouth, father); Private J. A. McCook (J. McCook, Opunake, father).
