The Britannic, of 47,500 tons, was sunk in the Aegean ssa. Eleven hundred were saved. The High Commissioner reports: — London, November 22 (4.15 p.m.) The Admiralty reports: The British hospital ship “Britannic” was sunk by a mine nr a torpedo yesterday in the Aegean Sea. There were HOG survivors, fifty lives being lost. SUNK BY A SUBMARINE. press Association —Copyright, -Austro lian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received 12.50 p.m,) London, November 22. The Chronicle's Athens correspondent states that the Britannic was submarined off the Island of Zea. The survivors, including one nurse, lauded at Phaloron.
