Press Association —Copyright. Sydney, November 17. Recently, on the eve of attaining military age, the boxer Darcy disappeared and has since been missing. Vesterday, amongst luggage of a passenger departing on an American steamer, two letters found addressed to Darcy, one bearing the pencilled signature of a well-known Sydney sportsman. The passenger and luggage were, taken ashore, and proceedings will be taken under the War Precautions Act.

According to Sydney papers to hand, Les Darcy, Australia’s champion Iboxer, has been missing since October 26. Ho was sot down to meet Chip, the American boxer, at Melbourne, on Monday, hut evidently he had not been found, as the resulted the contest has not been announced. Darcy came of age on October 31st, and was liable to respond to the call-to-arms proclamation for home defence. Rumours were current a few weeks ago that Darcy intended to leave for America, but he denied any such intention. Since then he has not been seen and he has made no response to the publicity evoked by his absence.- There were rumours that Darcy had shipped for Chile. Sydney, November 17. The Labour Council carried a motion requesting the withdrawal of the delegates of all unions who are conscriptionists. The Herald states that every member of, the new State Opposition has been called upon by the Political Labour League to hand in an undated resignation, to be used in the event of them taking up an attitude which is a broach of the Labour plaform or principles. In this State alone the loss ran into many millions yearly. In one of the Federal factories, the men were turning out certain articles at the rate of forty daily. One man easily did ninety, yet the present output is still 40. In the majority of industries the output is 26 to 50 per cent, less than it should be. During 1914-15, the strikes kept an average of 5000 employees idle. Hte regretted that the whole of the people here refused to he guided by their leaders. A. spirit of selfishness allied itself to disloyalty. A section of the community object to preventing the Commonwealth redeeming her pledge to assist in the prosecution of the war to the end.
