In tlie House oi Commons, .Mr Bonar Law, in reply to Mr Newman, said the Government was Gmsidcring the question of the employment of Overseas labour in the allied steel industries engaged in the national interests. Mr Pringle: Is the introduction of colored labour being considered P Mr Bonar Law said the obtaining of skilled labour wherever it was available was being considered. STATE CONTROL OF LIQUOR.
NEGOTIATIONS IN GLASGOW. Press Association— Copyright, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received 12.35 p.m.) London, November 17. The Manchester Guardian states that negotiations for the Government taking over all the licensed houses in the Glasgow area have reached an advanced stage. It is understood that -the basis of negotiations is purchase in six years. The licensed grocers are demanding excessive terms which is the chief obstacle to the negotiations.
