On the Sea
HUN LIE HUNG UP AND QUARTERED. Press Assn.—Copyright.—Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.. and Reuter. (Received 12.10 p.m.) London, November 16. A Berlin official report states:—A submarine sank with a torpedo on 16th a hostile transport of 12,000 tons when eight sea miles west of Malta. ■ The British Admiralty states that this announcement is an obvious attempt to explain away the outrageous and inhuyiane act of torpedoing a mail steamer without warning. The only ship sunk in the Mediterranean on the 6th was the Arabia, which was sunk 300 miles east of Malta.
