THE STRATFORD SHOW.

NOVEMBER 29 AND 30. Among the local events which take place during the year, few are so conspicuously important to the town’ of Stratford and district as the wellknown Stratford Agricultural and Pastoral Show, for the greater part of the year meetings are held from time

to tiipe of men capable and experienced to make arrangements so that the Show will eclipse that of previous years. While the majority of those who form the various committees are chiefly connected with farming, there are many who are sufficiently interested in tlie Show itself as to give their business experience towards its successful working. Fortunate this'.year is Stratford in leaving such a capable president in Mr E. Jackson, who is in constant touch with farmer:-, throughout Taranaki, and who for many years lias been qlosely associated with the working of the Show. Much work devolvescupnn the Secretary, and the Association is well provided for in this respect, Mr A. 1). Stanley having proved himself a capable officer, i Many people are not aware that mem- I hers of the committee devote much time and attention to the state of the grounds and buildings to ensure that not only the public are well provided for. hut that the animals belonging to the various exhibitors are fed and housed satisfactorily. The preparations for this year’s Show, which takes

place on the 29th and 20th November, reflect highly on the management, and when it is considered the many ,details-that have to bo attended to (frpm the' piVparatrbir of the schedule .the’ feeding of the stock on the 1 (.grejnnd and the- hupiu.esseipml Jttajtive side of. thc T ip,rganusationi the Officers are 'to he congratulated that everything is so well advanced. It would help the Association much if entries were sent in early, and as these close on Thursday next, the 2.lrd, it is hoped exhibitors will comply and' thus assist the Association. Favored with line weather, there is every indication that the “1910” Show will he the best ever hold. Suffice it to say that, all members of the various committees are. prepared to give their best services, so that Straford can lie j proud of their own A. and P. Show.
