MACEDONIA.

OPERATIONS ON THE STRUMA.

SUCCESS OF THE BRITISH

CAPTURE OF IMPORTANT ROA3. NO BULGAR COUNTER-ATTA3K. Press Association—Copyright, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received 8.50 a.m.) London, November 3, Mr Ward Price, correspondent at Salonika, says: The operations on the Struma began at daylight on Tuesday, the British attacking half a dozen places, and each were carried out independently. There was immediate and full success, resulting in the capture of Baraclijunal, which is now thoroughly secured. Since the capturing of Bala Zir Yrkri on September 30, when five thousand were put out of action, the enemy has gradually resigned the mastery of the Struma Valley. ' Baraclijumal commands one of tlie principal roads towards Bulgaria. The enemy resisted halfheartedly, and fled to houses in the village. We had our fewest casualties'.

It is significant that the Bulgarians have not made a real counter-attack.

BRITISH STORM A VILLAGE.

Press Association—Copyright, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received 11.20 a.m.) London, November 3. A French communique states: The British stormed the village of Alitsa on the left bank of the Struma.
