Advance only raced until 2J years old, and gained a record for, the National Cup (Christchurch), two miles, in 4mi:a. 48sec,, which is evidence of his great pace, beating amongst others Albertorious and Black Child. Out of nine starts, he secured four firsts, two seconds, and three unplaced. Advance has aired a number of good performers, including Hedvic, who went a mile and three furlongs in 3.15 and 3.40.
