His stock nave won fame in the South whether on the race track, in the show ring, or on farm work. Advance only raced until iJJ years old, and gained a record for the National Cup (Christchurch), two miles, in 4min. 46sec, which is evidence of his great pace, beating amongst others Albertorious and Black Child. Out of nine starts, he ' secured four firsts, two seconds, and three unplaced. Advance has sired a number of good performers, including Hedvic, who went a mile and three furlongs in 3.15 and 3.40.
