AN APPRECIATION.
• ' [To The Editof Stratford Post.) Sir,—Before taking my departure from Stratford and district, 1 wish to personally thank the Public of this Area for many acts of kindness to me during my term of office in the A Defence Department, and for showing so much patriotism during the trying time of the past two years owing to the war. I feel it is only mv duty to thus acknowledge my indebtedness to all. 1 also desire to thank: the officers and non-com. officers for their valuable assistance in helping me to carry out my duties, in tin. Territorial and Cadet training,\ thus bringing them up to the present state of efficiency. I also greatly appreciate the' efforts -and courtesy of the editorial staff of the Stratford Evening Post in assisting to publish various matters concerning the New Zealand Expeditionary Force or otherwise from time to time, which/was a very material help. When away frdhl this district, I will look back on my stay ill Stratford with most pleasant memories.—l am, etc., C. OKAY, Lieutenant.
