ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Christchurch, September 29. A married woman, Margaret Todd, died in the hospital yesterday during, the progress of an operation under chloroform. At the inquest a \ verdict was returned that death was due to heart failure, associated with chronic nephritis. - ' Gore, September 29. O. M. Wise, a commission agent, who had resided at Gore for several j "years, was found dead in bed tins morning with a bullet wound in his' forehead. A rifle was found in the' bed. Deceased had been in failing •health for some time.
