and tallow sale.

NEWTON KING’S REPORT.

At my four-weekly sale of the above ou September 19th, I submitted the following catalogue. Thirty-one bales and 66 sacks wool, 1921 sheepskins, 4 casks, 4 boxes, and 39 tins tallow, 641 hides, 3583 calf skins.

I There was the usual attendance of buyers, and all produce was sold under keen competition. Prices for crutchings hardened id to id, while sheepskins sold at record •prices for these sales, advancing Id to 2d per lb, 1000 realising from 12d jto 12id per lb'l Tallow was firm at late rates. Ox hides were id easier, I and cow hides were par to id per lb I advance. Calf again hardened id to j}d per lb.

I quote: Crutchings 9d to 9id, seedy lambs 5d to 9id, locks 4d to sd. Iu sacks: crutchings 9d to 9id, seedy 5.U1 to Bd, dead B£d to Hid. Fleece 8d to 12id.

Sheepskins.—Full-wools medium 12ld, coarse 12£d to 12id, light Farmers’ lihes heavy Hid to ll|d, hoggets to 121 d, lambs Hid to i-wools 9id> dead 9d to lOfcl, dead and damaged Bfd, damaged Id to Id. Damp lines: heavy 13s to 14s 4d, light to medium 8s to 12s, lambs 3j7*rfe'.o to 10s 7d, light 4s to 6s 7d. Tallow.—ln casks 29s 3d to 30s. In tins 21s 3d to 27s 3d. Hides.—Ox heavy ll|d to llfd, light IOJd to Hid. Cow heavy 9fd to lOjfd, medium 9Jd to 10;|d, light 10§d to 10|d, cut 73d to Bkl, farmers’ lines, best cow, Did to 9Jd, rough Bjd to 9gd, cut or slippy 5d to 7|d, dry 6fd to 7-|d, stags 7d to 73-d, horse 10s to 13s, cut 6s 9d, yearlings 7d to'9d, cut or slippy 6|d to 6|d. Calfskins,—Specials 13d, firsts llfd to 12d, seconds 9?d to 10id, meaty 93d, cut 7ld to 9}d, badly cut 4d to od, slippy 7,1 d to 7|d, dry 2s 2d to 2s 9d each, slinks 6d each. Bones.—£s us per ton.
